Carousel maker for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook
Paste a long post, a thread or a list and get a carousel you can post. It opens with a cover, gives each point a numbered slide of its own, and closes with a slide that asks for the save. Pick a network, a shape and a look, check every slide, and save them as images in a zip, or one PDF for LinkedIn.
Runs in your browser. Your text and images never leave it.

Carousel sizes for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook
Each takes a run of slides you swipe through. They differ in how many, in what file, and in what they do with a size they don't like.
| Network | Slides in one post | Sizes this tool makes | File |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 20 photos and videos | 1080 × 1350 (4:5), 1080 × 1080 (1:1) or 1080 × 1440 (3:4) | A PNG per slide, in one zip | |
| TikTok | Up to 35 photos in a photo post | 1080 × 1920 (9:16), 1080 × 1440 (3:4) or 1080 × 1080 (1:1) | A JPEG per slide, in one zip |
| Up to 300 pages, 100 MB at most | 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1080 (1:1) | One PDF | |
| 10 cards in a carousel ad, 5 in a Page's link carousel | 1080 × 1080 (1:1) or 1080 × 1920 (9:16) | A PNG per slide, in one zip |
Instagram keeps a photo 1,080 pixels wide, and keeps its shape when it's between 1.91:1 and 3:4. Anything taller is cropped. Whatever shape you pick for the first slide is the shape of every slide in the post, so all the slides here share one.
TikTok calls it a photo post: up to 35 photos people swipe through or watch play one after another. TikTok doesn't publish a size for them, so we make full-screen 9:16 slides. Its developer docs take JPEG and WebP and don't list PNG, so these slides save as JPEGs.
LinkedIn calls a carousel a document. It takes PDF, PowerPoint and Word files, asks for PDFs where you can, and wants every page the same size. It also asks you to give the document a title when you post it.
On Facebook an ordinary post with several photos shows them as a grid, not a carousel. The swipeable kind is a carousel ad, with 2 to 10 cards at 1:1 or 9:16, or a Page's link carousel of 2 to 5 square cards, posted through Meta's tools.
Portrait is the one we'd pick for Instagram and LinkedIn: on a phone it takes up the most of the feed. On TikTok, full screen.

How your text becomes slides
The tool reads the shape of what you paste, so a list stays a list and a long point runs over two slides instead of shrinking to fit.
- The cover. Your first line becomes the cover's title, unless you write your own. A long opening gives its first sentence.
- A slide per point. Each list item gets its own slide, and so does each paragraph. Short paragraphs in a row share one.
- Long points, split evenly. A point that's too long for one slide is split at the end of a sentence near the middle, so you get two even slides instead of a full one and a scrap.
- Headings. A short first line with more text under it becomes the slide's heading, in bold.
- Your own breaks. A line with just --- on it ends a slide right there. Once you use one, the tool follows yours.
- Threads, too. Paste a thread and its 1/5 numbers and the 🧵 come off, since the slides are numbered for you.
- The ending. The closing slide asks for the save ("Found this useful?"), and you can change what it says or turn it off.
Links are never split in half, and an emoji counts as one character, the way you see it. The type gets smaller on a slide with more text, down to a size that's still easy to read on a phone. If a slide still has too much, the tool tells you which one.
Make slides people swipe through
These are our habits, not the networks' rules.
- Make the cover a promise. "5 habits that made my mornings calmer" says what's inside and how much of it there is.
- One idea a slide. If a slide needs two headings, it's two slides.
- Keep it short. A slide is read in a second or two. A couple of sentences is plenty.
- Number long carousels. Numbers tell people how far in they are, and that there's more coming.
- End with what to do next. Ask people to save it, share it or follow you. A carousel that just stops doesn't get any of the three.
- Write the caption too. The caption is where the post gets found and where the link goes. The slides are where it gets read.
Posting the carousel
The slides save to your device. From there it's a couple of taps.
Instagram. Open the zip (on a phone, the Files app does it with a tap), then start a post, choose several photos and pick the slides in order. Each file's number is its place in the carousel.
TikTok. Open the zip, start a post, tap Photo, then Upload, and pick the slides in order. Add a sound if you like, choose the cover, and post it.
LinkedIn. Start a post, add a document and choose the PDF. Give it a title (the cover's title works), write the post's text, and post it.
Facebook. In Ads Manager, pick the carousel format and add the slides as cards, in order, with a link for each. A Page's link carousel is posted through Meta's API or a tool that uses it.
Does Shaflex post carousels?
No. Shaflex doesn't post carousels, and it doesn't post to Instagram, TikTok or Facebook. It's a scheduler for Threads, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn: write the post once and it makes a copy for each, sized to its limit and split into a thread where it runs long, then schedules them into your weekly slots.
So a long post can be a carousel here, and a thread on Threads, X, Bluesky and Mastodon in Shaflex, from the same draft.

Questions
What size should an Instagram carousel be?
1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5 portrait) takes up the most of the feed, and 1080 × 1080 (1:1) is the classic square. Instagram keeps photos 1080 pixels wide and between 1.91:1 and 3:4, and every slide in one post shares the first slide's shape.
How many slides can a carousel have?
Up to 20 on Instagram, photos and videos together, and 35 in a TikTok photo post. A LinkedIn document can have up to 300 pages and 100 MB, and a Facebook carousel ad up to 10 cards. A few dozen is plenty for anyone to swipe through.
What size should a TikTok carousel be?
TikTok doesn't publish one. We make 1080 × 1920 (9:16), which fills a phone screen, and save the slides as JPEGs, the format TikTok's developer docs name. Up to 35 photos go in one photo post.
Can I post a carousel on Facebook?
Not as an ordinary post: several photos show as a grid. The swipeable kind is a carousel ad, with 2 to 10 cards at 1:1 or 9:16, or a Page's link carousel of 2 to 5 square cards. Save square slides here and add them as the cards.
How do I post a carousel on LinkedIn?
Save the carousel as a PDF here, then start a post on LinkedIn, add a document and choose the file. LinkedIn asks for a title, shows the pages as slides people swipe through, and lets them download it as a PDF.
Can I turn a thread into a carousel?
Yes. Paste the thread and each part becomes a slide. The thread's 1/5 numbers and the 🧵 come off, since the slides are numbered for you.
Does Shaflex post carousels to Instagram or TikTok?
No. Shaflex doesn't post to Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, and it doesn't post carousels. It schedules posts for Threads, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn: write once, and it fits the text to each network and splits it into a thread where it runs long.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The slides are drawn and saved in your browser, on your device. Nothing you type is stored or sent, and there's no watermark on what you save.
Same post, every network you're on.
Shaflex fits one draft to Threads, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn, splits it into a thread where it runs long, and schedules it.
